Hi, my name is Mick Davis. I was born and raised in Bethel Alaska, but I have lived
in Oregon for about eight years now. I spent four years in Forest Grove, Oregon at
Pacific University where I majored in physics and wrestled.
I then moved on to graduate school in physics at the University of Oregon where
I now study the structure and optical properties of disordered metal nanostructures.
When I am not doing science I enjoy rock climbing, mountaineering, and just being
in the wilderness. Science is so fun, that even when I am outdoors I end up thinking
about things like the physics of climbing.
Joining me on many of these adventures is my amazing fiancee, Liz, who is currently
working on her bachelors degree in nursing.
